Child Protection

Child protection

The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) defines Child Rights as the minimum entitlements and freedoms that should be afforded to every citizen below the age of 18 regardless of race, national origin, color, gender, language, religion, opinions, origin, wealth, birth status, disability or other characteristics. These rights encompass freedom of children and their civil rights, family environment, necessary healthcare and welfare, education, leisure and cultural activities and special protection measures. It outlines the fundamental human rights that should be afforded to children in four broad classifications that suitably cover all civil, political, social, economic and cultural rights of every child.

Our interventions are designed to include:

  • Involve in immediate and critical needs by addressing the problem.
  • Community mobilization, linking child rights and local pre-dominant issues like school enrollment, school dropout, health care, exploitation, torture, child marriage etc.
  • Capacity building primarily among the mothers and other adults to know the child rights specially of those who are in distress condition and children with special need.
  • Provide support for school going children in terms of books and other educational materials and also handholding support to first generation learners through free or subsidized coaching assistance.
  • Bringing school dropouts back to school and support education materials.
